I downloaded the first Wipeout off of the playstation network and I
have been playing it non stop. I used to love Wipeout XL, but I can't

This bowling game is only 10 bucks and its way better than wii bowling
according to a trusted source named craig. 1080p and it plays your
mp3's. Its cheaper than a night if bowling and you can bowl to your
own music. The 6 axis controler works, the swing feels natural, and
with a little practice you can put spin on the ball and own your
friends in style. Best 10 bucks I have spent in a long time. Poor wii
with its lack of 1080p I am sure its fun but its 2008,we don't have
flying cars. The least we can do is ensure our video game resolutions
match our tv resolutions.

It is over for the music industry. It is not my fault either I still
pay for 90% of my music. When people realize they can pirate music
directly on the iPod and skip the computer all together not only will
they find a way to shut down soulseek I am afraid apple will start
bricking peoples jailbroken iPods through updates. I could be wrong.
Lets hope I'm wrong. I think I have given iTunes at least 800 bucks

I am so happy but there are still many more months before this is
over. If Clinton is on the ticket I will kind of be dissapointed. On
the other hand if that shifty eyed mccain wins because all of the
hillary supporters getting spiteful I will be twice as mad. I really
do not trust mccain at all his speeches always come across as
dishonost to me. There is a difference between telling everyone
exactly what they want to hear and meaning it. I believe the
difference is in the eyes. When obama talks about change he looks like
he's about to tear up as if he is taking the weight of the country or
hell even the worlds problems on his shoulders. Mccain on the other
hand really seems to be appealing to the rich and the elderly doing
his well coriagraphed speech even tilting his head from left to center
to right over and over again as each paragraph changes. He may try to
distance himself from the bush regime but he really is not any
different. I just do not trust that old man. I am sure I would feel
the same way if he was running as a democrat.

Well I have been using leopard for a week now. So far so good. I did the upgrade install that everyone warned me was a bad idea to do. I did not have a single problem with it. My Power PC iBook and my 20" iMac had no problems. Spaces is great, Stacks is a satisfying way to keep folders with aliases to specific programs in categories. The one thing I am very stoked about is Safari 3.0. I used to have to use firefox with blogger to get my link buttons and image upload button. I love Safari's speed so I do not even really want to bother waiting the extra time for Firefox to load. Time machines seems pretty cool, I am using an external usb drive the same size as my laptop drive with my iBook. Back ups seem to go pretty quickly after the first one. I do also love the fact I can make it back up anytime and its not purely schedule based. Over time it should prove more useful. There is not much need to go back a week in time for me right now. I was really worried my external monitor would stop working with my iBook since I have had to use Screen Spanning Doctor it ended up working with leopard even though it was written and has not been updated for years. The backwards compatibility with leopard is really stunning. The only program I can not get to work under it at the moment is Live 5. Well I guess there is one major complaint. The transparent menu bar at the top should really have optional opacity. When I have a program maximized my arty wallpaper gives me a mint green menu bar, I really do not want a minty green menu bar. That small bitch aside leopard is the OS I have always dreamed of.

When I first started watching Weeds I was amazed at who was doing the song selection for each episode, the dramatic nervous breakdown ending to the first episode was Rilo Kiley's - With Arms Out Stretched. Now we are all the way up to season 3 episode 12 and again they chose the perfect song at just the right moment but wait there is something kind of creepy about it. Its a long overdue sex scene thats scored with Page Frances - Chariot?!?! I was under the impression they are a Christian band (not that I listen to Christian bands). Either way its a great song with the perfect example of layering female vocals transparently over a male vocal at just the right time tastefully and respectively. Anyway great show, great track, when weeds ends I am going to cry.

I know it has been a while since I last posted and Guitar Hero and room remodeling are to blame. Within two weeks I ended up going guitar hero crazy and buying part 1, part 2, and encore 80's edition. I have five starred everything on medium and I have almost unlocked everything on hard. I feel a bit late to the game but not really, I remember playing this game with a normal ps2 controller when it was Frequency and Amplitude. As most people have probably figured out Guitar Hero with friends who play Guitar Hero is a great fucking time. This issue of the game is going to include "My name is jonas" by Weezer. I have great love for that song, it was kind of a rediscovered anthem when I was in hawaii.

So next week I am getting gassed and going under the knife to get all my teeth removed and replaced. It is long over due, I expect to feel better on all levels. Im watching the keynote as I type this.

1. Ring tone maker for the iphone. - Okay yeah so I am one of those haters that can not afford the steep deposit at&t would make pay. On top of that there is the fact it costs .99 cents to make a ring tone from something you already have? I was not aware the cell phone ring tone industry had that kind of sway, I have been using audacity to cut out parts of songs I like and then I just download them to my cheap mp3 capable pre paid phone. Boring and lame its going to cost .99 cents even if you already own the song.

2. The ipod nano can now play video's and games, and has a slightly larger screen, coverflow interface. This was a needed update. The nano is a great deal at its price point. Should hold enough for the average music listener.

3. The ipod classic. Well 160gb should hold anyone.

4. Ipod touch. I want it. It only holds 16gb, I do not care, Its pretty and I want to worry about getting mugged waiting on the bus.

First up (and yes I am lumping them together like FOX did. New episodes of The Simposons, and The Family Guy premiere on September 23rd.

Okay, I was a "Dead Like Me" fan, and this show just looks cheesy. I however decided to give this a 1 or 2 episode chance simply because the thought of some one discussing this premiss at a pitch meetings makes me laugh. This show premiers on the CW on September 25th.

Pushing Daisies

I am looking forward to this show the most. A high budget show show in HD. It might actually have an art style going on. I saw the previews for this show during a movie in a theater in hawaii, I do not remember the movie maybe it was ratatouille. I know it looks interesting as hell. This premiers october 3rd at 8pm on ABC. ABC brought us lost, and continues to get a little more open minded with their prime time line ups.

I know its sad to look forward to something as bleak as cable television, but sometimes Rilo Kiley is releasing bad albums and thats all you have.

So I went to circuit city and priced some flat panel displays. Amazingly they had a pretty nice 22" inch wide screen display from the "off brand" Acer. I gladly payed $250.00 for it. I got it home and plugged it into my iBook, plugged in a usb keyboard and a mouse and booted it up. It was horrible, I mean it was 1024 X 768 being stretched on a monitor that handles 1680 X 1050. OSX just did not list my resolution as an option . I did some frustrated searching on line and found this program some guy wrote out of the goodness of his own heart for people like me. "Screen Spanning Doctor" is the name of the program. This guy totally works on donation and the second I get a bank account account I am totally donating. Bless the geeks that fix problems large corporations never seem to get around to.

So I have relocated back from Oahu just in time apparently, I giant hurricane is on its way. I hope those wonderful people I met in the last year and half are all okay. The move back to huntington so far at this point has been a very positive one. I did not realize I missed this town so much. I mean trust me it is nothing impressive but there is a lot of family and friends that I really missed. My dog remembered me and I did not think she would, she went nuts. The only thing I was not expecting was to get a job so soon. I got a job offer over my space from an old friend believe it or not. Its definitely a lot different than pizza management. There is no money to count, no brazilian drivers to argue with, in fact I do not do much of anything. I pretty much just sit on the internet for 8-12 hours and make a phone call or press a key or two when some ones home or business alarm goes off. So far I have been lucky and not much has happened. With all of this free time to sit on my laptop I expect to be blogging a lot. In fact I have so much free time at this point it might be a good time to to take up a new programming language.

If you head over to Flock's website they have the new beta available for download. You take the time to login into your del.icio.us accounts and blogger accounts and such and the browser integrates your bookmarks and blog posts into one big "Web 2.0" orgy. I am blogging on it right now in a new post window, It even has support for blogger tags and that definitely saves some time. Web browsing seems a little sluggish on my ibook. There is a very noticeable difference between this and safari's load times but yeah its still in beta, who knows. This is a good example of how you can have a successful application just simply because you support other services that many other people use on a daily basis.

Not being so smothered by work has been great. I am actually working on music again. I have kind of ditched my MC-909 for the time being and I am just using my ibook and a midi controller with reason and ableton live. I do plan on using the 909 for some things down the road, like live live sample triggering, and maybe some beat production but right now reason and reason and live are making my workflow very quick and efficient. I am also working with a lot of string sounds and reasons sound banks in use with the combinator is amazing. I hate when people say reason limits you, I mean everything is exportable its a quick and easy way to get ideas out before you lose them.

I mean, it is not the healthiest food in the world, or the most refined but I love it. I mean the "Loco Moco" is a Styrofoam cradled fried egg, a piece of cheap hamburger steak on top of some steamed rice, then they cover it with gravy and they even throw some cold macaroni salad in one of the corners. Okay maybe thats not for everyone but trust me it grows on you. In Hawaii if you order a tic tac it is guaranteed to come with two scoops of steamed rice. They even deliver them!

My friend Jeremy took my hiking Monday. We stayed off of the general tourist path (as to avoid tourists) and headed into the middle of the mountains. There is a very small amount of danger, just wild boars. He handed me a "rambo" knife and quickly made himself a spear. I just hoped and prayed I would not have to use the knife, I am pretty sure I do not even know how. The thought of killing anything still is a little to much for me but if its a large animal with tusks hey who knows. Either way I got some great photos of the mountains. We hiked about 3 hours in and then 3 hours back out. It was a much needed reset for my head and a reminder of why I need to get out on my days off, I mean Oahu has a lot of free fun if your energized enough to get off your ass. So I picked up this book in Mililani called "501 Must see movies." I figured this would go great with my netflix account. Im going through the book and watching the ones I have not seen before. Last week it was "Annie Hall" and that was amazing. So because of the action section of the book I am watching The Terminator. Sure I have seen Terminator 2 like everyone else, I just never got around to seeing the first one. I am 45 minutes into it with an hour to go. I do not think I am going to make it. I am so bored I am blogging.

So I got up this morning, listened to some vinyl and decided to go out for breakfast, so far so good. I grabbed some fast food breakfast and headed to blockbuster to drop off my one week over due blockbuster movies. When I walked down california avenue and passed by the KFC a large Micronesian cross dresser started pelting me with rocks and wood chips from the KFC lot while screaming at me in his native tongue. I gave a dirty look but kept walking. When I got a block down the street I called the police. "911 police, fire or ambulance?" "police please." "Is this an emergency?" "no." "One moment." "Police, what is your emergency?" "It is not an emergency, There is some guy sitting on the KFC lot on california avenue pelting random people on the side walk with rocks and such." " What are they wearing?" "A baby blue tube top." "You said it was a male?" "Yes it is a male." "Do want to wait to the police arrive?" "No I have to be somewhere I just thought I would report them since there are families and children walking down the street as well" "Okay then." "Thank you."

My wish has finally come true, I am no longer 50 hours salary, instead I am going to be working 35 to 40 hours a week hourly. Working 50 hours every week with no end in site is not something I can handle very well this point in my life and I am greatly looking forward to the free time. I live in Hawaii I might actually have the time to make it to a beach now, or even take a bus in to Waikiki to shop. I only work 4 days a week now, I really do not know what to do with myself. Maybe I can take up surfing or something.

I just ordered 200 dollars worth of vinyl from an ebay store. The seller charged me for 11 records and I only received 10 of them. I am still waiting on a response, all I know is my vinyl copy of Portishead - Portishead better be here by the end of next week. I know I am probably a little bit behind most people, but I do not care. I just finished watching it, I loved it. I really hope to see more movies with such progressive writing. I want to see more from this director and writer. I am saying this about a movie Queen Latifah is in, I never thought that would happen. This is probably one of those situations when a major studio (sony) had an intelligent script handed in and actually risked some money knowing intelligence is not so popular these days.

I have been listening to Cassadaga for the last few days and I am in love with it already. I am a regular reader of Stereo gum, I was shocked and disappointed when I read StereoGums Premature Evaluation. I do believe they got the title right, I think they should give it some growing room. All I know is I used to listen to a live verson of "I must belong somewhere" on repeat, It was  my vice for weeks and now I have a well produced copy and could not be happier. I hope stereogum regrets those words later, probably not but its a hope.

Eight whole days of no work and the lovely addition to my friend Craig flying down to vacation. Tons of fun to be had. I may live on Oahu but it costs so much to live here I have to work lots of hours. The long hours keep me from really seeing anything outside of central Oahu. I look forward to blowing a day and some money in waikiki and most of the rest of the time just exploring the dining options.
